Engineering
Commitment
The last several years have represented an aggressive transition to engineering based race engine design and analysis for Katech. We solidify that commitment with our engineering department and the tools at their disposal. We utilize all our resources for more complete and thorough development on all our customer programs.

Resources
Our engineering department and equipment give you the resources to develop the package that meets your requirements whether you are a corporate engineering group or a high profile race team. We can supplement your own staff or take your concept and develop it completely in-house with our engineering group and resources.

Engineering drives all that Katech completes in racing, pre-production OEM work as well as street performance products. The engineering department is responsible for all:

  • Program Management
  • Design
    • Components, system and engine design
    • Solid modeling
    • Concept to delivery
  • Analysis
    • Classical analysis
    • Partnered with Ricardo on complex analysis
    • FEA & CFD capabilities through partnership
  • Testing – RSM and DOE
  • Manufacturing
  • Specialties:
    • Bore distortion mapping
    • Piston ring pack tension quantification
    • Prototype design and manufacture
    • Race and high performance engine component design and evaluation
  • Specialized tools

Personnel
Fritz Kayl
Technical Director & C.E.O.

• Engine Assembly
• Component & System Design
