Katech started in ASA with the first 6 cylinder engine ever to run in the series but also ran a few V8 engines until the standard became the V6. When this happened Katech was already in place to become one of the major engine suppliers in the series. During a ten year stretch from 1990 to 2000, Katech gathered dozens of victories, pole positions and podium finishes.
Katech also captured the drivers and team championships four times in the ten year span, plus supplied engines to four Rookie of the Year during the same time frame. When the series became spec engines, Katech provided the development and supported the series with track support until its demise.
