About Katech
Katech Engineering has been a leader in American performance engineering since 1977, delivering championship-proven engines, precision-machined components, and complete vehicle solutions to the aftermarket, motorsports, and corporate markets.
Built on decades of professional motorsports experience, Katech has contributed to some of the most demanding racing programs in the world, including Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring, IndyCar, IMSA, SCCA, Grand-Am, and Dakar competition. That same engineering philosophy developed through professional racing continues to shape every engine, component, and vehicle program produced today.
From endurance racing and OEM development programs to high-performance street applications, Katech applies real-world testing, advanced engineering, and precision manufacturing to every project.
History
Founded in 1977, Katech Engineering established its reputation through advanced engine development, precision machining, and professional motorsports competition. Over the decades, the company has become one of the most recognized names in American performance engineering, contributing to championship-winning programs across multiple forms of racing.
Katech is widely recognized for its involvement with the legendary Corvette Racing program, contributing to multiple class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 at Daytona, and 12 Hours of Sebring. The company’s engines, components, and engineering expertise have supported programs across IMSA, SCCA, IndyCar, Grand-Am, endurance racing, and OEM development, while continuing to influence high-performance vehicle and engine programs for professional teams, builders, and enthusiasts worldwide.
While motorsports remains a core part of the company’s identity, Katech’s influence extends far beyond the racetrack. The same engineering, machining, and validation standards developed through professional competition are applied to the engines, components, and vehicle packages trusted by builders, enthusiasts, race teams, and OEM partners around the world.
Today, Katech continues to build upon that legacy through American manufacturing, advanced engineering, and a commitment to performance without compromise.
A New Era Of Performance
In 2025, Katech Engineering entered a new chapter through its acquisition by Rapson Performance Group, owned by Mark and Lynn Rapson. Longtime automotive enthusiasts, the Rapsons acquired Katech with a clear vision: to protect the company’s legacy while continuing to invest in its future growth, engineering capabilities, manufacturing operations, and customer experience.
Unlike traditional investment ownership groups, Mark and Lynn are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the company and work closely with the Katech team across all areas of the business. Their hands-on leadership reflects a genuine passion for performance engineering, motorsports, American manufacturing, and the customers and enthusiasts who have supported the Katech brand for decades.
Under their leadership, Katech continues to expand its engineering, manufacturing, vehicle integration, and product development capabilities while remaining committed to the principles that built its reputation: precision, performance, quality, and customer trust.
Together with the Katech team, Mark and Lynn are focused on carrying the company’s racing heritage forward while positioning the brand for the next generation of American performance engineering.
