Description

Katech Gen IV LSA 416ci Naturally Aspirated Short Block | 58x

Production LSA Block and Forged Stroker Assembly, Hand-Assembled by Katech Master Engine Builders.

The Katech Gen IV LSA 416ci Naturally Aspirated Short Block | 58x combines a brand-new production GM LSA block with a Callies forged crankshaft, Callies forged connecting rods, and CP-Carrillo forged pistons. Hand-assembled by Katech Master Engine Builders in Clinton Township, Michigan, USA, it provides an LSA-block foundation for a compatible naturally aspirated performance engine.

The block is CNC clearanced for the stroker rotating assembly. A 4.070-inch bore and 4.000-inch crankshaft stroke provide approximately 416 cubic inches of displacement, with a 58x crankshaft reluctor for compatible engine management systems.

The specified compression ratio is 10.9:1 with a stock LS3 combustion chamber. Final compression ratio depends on chamber volume, head gasket dimensions, and piston deck clearance in the completed engine.

Application & Fitment

The Katech Gen IV LSA 416ci Naturally Aspirated Short Block | 58x is configured for naturally aspirated LS-based performance builds using a production LSA block. The LSA block designation does not mean this package includes a supercharger or is configured as a complete factory LSA engine.

  • Compatible Naturally Aspirated LS-Based Engine Builds
  • Custom Performance Engine Installations Using an LSA Block
  • Applications with Compatible 58x Engine Management

Vehicle fitment depends on the selected cylinder heads, intake manifold, camshaft, oiling system, electronics, and installation components. Verify the complete combination before ordering.

Configuration & Installation

This version uses a 58x crankshaft reluctor. Match the crankshaft and camshaft position signals to the selected engine management system.

Plan cylinder head chamber volume, camshaft selection, fuel requirements, and calibration around the completed engine's compression ratio and intended use. Install the short block as part of your own engine project or discuss installation services with Katech.

Important Build Notes

  • Verify Final Compression Ratio with the Selected Cylinder Heads, Head Gaskets, and Piston Deck Clearance
  • Check Piston-to-Valve Clearance with the Selected Camshaft and Cylinder Heads
  • Confirm Crankshaft and Camshaft Position Signal Compatibility with the Engine Management System
  • Match Fuel Selection, Fuel System Capacity, and Calibration to the Completed Engine
  • Select an Appropriate Oil Pump, Oil Pan, and Supporting Oiling Components
  • Verify Vehicle-Specific Mounting, Accessory, and Cooling System Requirements
  • Follow the Applicable Assembly, Startup, and Break-In Procedures
