Description

Katech LS7 / LS3 416ci All-Day Camshaft

Strong Mid-Range and Top-End Performance with Excellent Street Manners for LS7 and LS3-Based 416ci Builds.

The Katech LS7 / LS3 416ci All-Day Camshaft is a hydraulic roller camshaft for LS7 and appropriately configured LS3-based 416ci engine builds. Using Katech's revised smooth lobe design, this profile is developed to increase top-end performance without sacrificing bottom-end power compared with the Katech LS7 Torquer 110 Camshaft and Katech LS7 Torquer 116 Camshaft in the intended LS7 combination.

Designed to fit a stock-bottom-end LS7, the Katech LS7 / LS3 416ci All-Day Camshaft features 232°/246° duration at .050", a 114° lobe separation angle, and +3° camshaft advance. Valve lift is .651"/.658" with a 1.80:1 rocker ratio. Actual valve lift depends on the rocker ratio used in the completed engine.

The stated LS7 powerband is 3,000–7,000 RPM, with very strong mid-range and top-end performance. Power delivery, driveability, and operating range in an LS3-based 416ci build depend on the engine configuration and supporting components.

In an ideal LS7 vehicle combination using Katech CNC-ported LS7 cylinder heads, a free-flowing exhaust, an appropriate intake manifold, and supporting calibration, the Katech LS7 / LS3 416ci All-Day Camshaft has the potential to produce 575+ rear-wheel horsepower. Katech's supplied LS7 performance figure on 93 octane is 645 HP with MSD. Actual output depends on the complete engine and vehicle combination and testing conditions.

Katech's LS7 valvetrain development includes Spintron validation to 8,000 RPM with the associated test combination. This validation speed is separate from the stated powerband and does not establish an 8,000 RPM operating limit for every LS7 or LS3-based 416ci build.

Why Choose Katech

Katech has been involved in the racing industry since 1977, with engine development experience that includes the Corvette C5-R race program. That heritage informs our approach to performance camshaft and valvetrain development.

Our Optron Spin Cell technology allows Katech engineers to analyze valve motion during operation and evaluate valvetrain control. This development process helps guide camshaft and component combinations with power and durability in mind.
